In Nevada, construction stormwater coverage comes from General Permit for Stormwater Discharges Associated with Construction Activity (permit no. NVR100000), issued by Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP). It took effect January 5, 2015 and expired January 4, 2020; it is administratively continued by NDEP while a renewal is drafted (Part 2.6.1).
Scope note. The 2015 permit is administratively continued. When NDEP reissues it, existing plans must be updated to the new permit.
At a glance
| Item | What the permit says |
|---|---|
| How coverage is obtained | NOI and filing fee to NDEP at least 14 days before the activity starts, via genpermits.ndep.nv.gov; SWPPP prepared before the NOI (Parts 2.2.1.3.1, 2.3.2, 2.4) |
| Agency fee | Filing fee with the NOI, then a nonrefundable annual fee due by July 1 (Parts 2.3.2, 7.1); amounts on NDEP's Water Pollution Control fee schedule |
| Who may prepare the plan | SWPPP 'prepared and implemented in accordance with good engineering practices' (Part 6.1.2); no licence or seal named |
| Who inspects | Qualified Personnel provided by the operator: knowledgeable in erosion and sediment control principles and practice (Part 5.1.1) |
| Inspection frequency | At least once every 7 days and within 24 hours after a 0.5 in or greater storm; every 30 days plus after 0.5 in storms on a reduced schedule (Parts 5.2.2, 5.3.2) |
| State forms and templates | No mandatory state SWPPP template named in the permit |
Points that are easy to miss
- File the NOI at least 14 days before work starts (Part 2.3.2).
- The annual fee is due every July 1 until the NOT (Part 7.1).
- Fix deficient controls within 7 days or before the next storm, whichever is sooner (Part 5.2.1).
- NDEP is reviewing its regulations (Executive Order 2026-003); a stakeholder workshop is set for October 26, 2026.
What a SWPPP Desk plan covers here
We prepare a site-specific plan written to NVR100000, with each section mapped to the permit part it answers. You, the operator, review and sign it and keep it on site.
Checkout open in Nevada. State ruling: Sell (re-check when reissued). The site check on the plan page applies these conditions before payment. See coverage.
What we do not do
- Our plans are not sealed or stamped. BMPs that need design calculations, such as sediment basins and post-construction practices, come from your design professional.
- The operator signs the plan and is responsible for it.
- We do not visit or inspect sites.
- We do not file the NOI or any permit application for you. We tell you which form and portal the permit names.
